Introducing
Lactate is the gold-standard biomarker for fetal distress. When clinicians are equipped with lactate information, they can make evidence-based decisions about fetal status. Currently, access to fetal lactate is limited by the requirement of an invasive in-utero blood test. A continuous lactate monitor would finally provide access to the most clinically validated biomarker in real-time. Elevated lactate is highly specific to fetal hypoxia – it’s an unambiguous, numerical and actionable biomarker.
